Candle Cover - Hexagon Motif

How to crochet a candle cover with hexagon motif




Materials: crochet acrylic yarn, 5mm crochet hook, fabric stiffening, gloves

Start with chain 7
Slip stitch to 1st stitch and form a ring

Round 1: chain 3, 2dc into the ring, *chain 2, 3dc into the ring* repeat from * to * 4 more times. To finish your round: chain 2, slip stitch to 1st stitch, slip stitch in each of next 2 stitches, slip stitch into the next V.

Round 2: chain 3, 2dc into the 1st V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V, *chain1, 3dc into the next V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V* repeat from * to * around. To finish your round: chain 2, slip stitch to 1st stitch, slip stitch in each of next 2 stitches, slip stitch into the next V.

Round 3: chain 3, 2dc into the 1st V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V, *chain 1, 3dc into the next space, chain 1, 3dc into the next V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V* repeat from * to * around. To finish your round: chain 2, slip stitch to 1st stitch, slip stitch in each of next 2 stitches, slip stitch into the next V.

Round 4: chain 3, 2dc into the 1st V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V, *chain 1, 3dc into the next space, chain 1, 3dc into the next space, chain 1, 3dc into the next V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V* repeat from * to * around. To finish your round: chain 2, slip stitch to 1st stitch, slip stitch in each of next 2 stitches, slip stitch into the next V.

Round 5:  chain 3, 2dc into the 1st V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V, chain 1, 3dc into the next space, chain 1, 3dc into the next space, chain1, 3dc into the next space, chain 1, 3dc into the next V, chain 2, 3dc into the same V* repeat from * to * around. To finish your round: chain 2, slip stitch to 1st stitch, cut the yarn and finish your work.

Put the stiffening into a bowl and dip your motif. Let it dry for 24 hours on top of a water glass.
